Forcing Resolution From an Xfire Launch

Anyone know if this can be done?

I force my resolution to 1280 * 1024 from my desktop icon targt, but when I launch from Xfire it resolves back to the in-game settings.

Please dont advise me to install ASE as I'd rather write the IP address in blood & then manually type it in than use it.

      have ' +szx 1280 +szy 1024' after '"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1' on your shortcut

That's just it. xfire isn't paying attention to any of that stuff..err..at least not the resolution part. It runs at 12x9 when I launch the game normally, but goes back to 8x6 when launched from xfire. :)

I think you can force 1280x1024 on Xfire. The method is pretty similar to adding the szx and szy on the shortcut. Actually, it's exactly the same.

Go to your Xfire folder, and open up xfire_games.ini with Notepad. Scroll down to [4578] or Battlefield 2. See the line that starts out: "Launch=%UA_LAUNCHER_EXE_PATH% +menu 1 +fullscreen 1"? Add the +szx 1280 +szy 1024 to it, just like you did to the shortcut. It worked for me, so I'll assume it'll work for you.

P.S. If you're doing this while Xfire is on, be sure to restart Xfire after modifying the .ini file.
