Grappling hook and other stupid ideas...

From http://gamesdomain.yahoo.com/feature/1121158 about the BF2 addon Special Forces:

Battlefield 2 knew how to kick butt and leave a boot-print from day one, but the Special Forces expansion adds new aspects and entire new dimensions of screw-with-thy-neighbor. An all-purpose grappling hook allows determined players to scale any structure or obstruction within range of the device.

On the gravitic flip-side, the zip-line fires a propelled, anchored line to points below, allowing individual soliders -- or entire squads, if they have their rapid-deployment act together -- to quickly and safely sail down from rooftops to the thickest of street-action. Speaking of which, Special Forces is designed to intentionally focus on firefights -- accordingly, there will be greater numbers and concentration of cover points.

WTF?!? This just seems as they are turning the game even more arcade :|: :hmm:

Its going to be mongo cheesey IMHO.
They had better add 1) more maps, 2) additional game modes, and 3) better infantry weapons.

      I agree completely.

No wonder that it's come to this when EA is pulling the strings.

EA are masters of making people pay for features that should have been in the game from the beginning.

          grappling hook = the sucks!

We are now going to have sniper at place where no one can get to and it will still be the same slow speed to scale things at woohoo!!!

I would have prefered more armies more maps more vechicles (i'm talking 3 full armies, with 2 planes (bomber, fighter) a tank an AA vechile a jeep and fav APC and 2 choppers attack and transport! The maps have to be a new eviroment ie snow! or steppe or something cool.

We wants the AN/PEQ for M4 (Infrared Target Indicator). So we can paint targets for the Jets. No other game I know about has this. JUST GIMME GIMME GIMEE!!!!

They stated that those two new items will be kit based. So I doubt the sniper will have it unless say a support guys throws it up there.

If a sniper can get somewhere with a grappling hook, so can any other player with a grappling hook. He has no advantage over anyone else if he's using the same item.

And how fast do you expect a soldier carrying all their equipment to scale a wall?

well seeing how you can sprint while running, i was noting that when climbing a ladder its slow slow slow! so it will be the same. Also if you check the screenshots you will see that one where one team appears to be repelling into the hanger but the people on the ropes are in a climb position, not a repel. Its fake! its all a lie!!!

but whatever waste your money i'm passing the expansion pack up! its going to be another secret weapons. DICE CA SUCKS! :)
