Boot from the CD, or boot floppies and proceed with installation. It will prompt you to format.Originally posted by EntropyActually i have a question about reformatting. When i try to reformat my hard drive it says that i can not reformat and to check to make sure that all programs are not using this disk and that there are not any folders showing the contents of this disk. anything i need to know about how to fix this?
If you save your bf2 folder from "My Documents", you won't have to redo your controls or settings, if you replace the folder after the reinstall.

Not trying to be an ass but do you understand what reformatting is? Basically you are trying to do it from windows (Im guessing), and you need to as someone else pointed out boot from a disc (xp install disc) or use dos.Originally posted by EntropyActually i have a question about reformatting. If your going to reformat backup or bf2 folder in my documents, or just your profile from the bf2 folder and then reformat. If you do this then you don't have to reset all your keys, change video and audio, just copy and paste the profile into that folder.

You can do it the easy way with booting from the windows disk, or boot in DOS and run C:/Fdisk
Or whatever your hardrive is called, I think thats the right command, I only did it that way once

no no fdisk /mbr :P thats a quick and easy way to do if from a win9x boot disk bwahaha!
Reformatting is a clean wipe of whatever drive it is on. Formating C: mean he is doing a full reinstall, have fun patching windows up to the newest version hehe :)

If you only have 512mb of harddrive space, what are you running a Tandy?
You don't have to re-format to add ram, just put it in
