I have a similar problem. It usually happens within 5 minutes of starting to play, but tonight happened after about 15 minutes.
Total lockup, can't Alt-Tab, can't Ctrl-Alt-Del, nothing. no sound.
Usually after a reboot it will work fine. Saturday it froze within 5 minutes, rebooted, it froze again, rebooted, then played for like 4 hours no prob.
I don't think this happened before I installed the 1.0.2 fix.
my specs:
ASUS A7n8X-X mobo (nForce2 chipset)
AMD AthlonXP 2600+
1 GB PC3200 ram
Ati Radeon 9800 Pro
WinXP SP2
