VOIP doesn't work, post your specs

I checked the drivers before updating and was already at the latest, but reinstalled them just to make sure. No change.
I've narrowed it down to "it's a server thing". Me and a buddy of mine who has the exact same 'problem' have tried a bunch of different servers that say they allow VOIP, but in reality they don't. So we've been playing on only EA servers for now and it works just fine.
These server admin's need to get off their ass and fix this or disable VOIP so those of us browsing the server list don't join it with false expectations that it actually works.Comment

Audigy2 ZS, here is what I did to "cure" my VoIP problems.
#1
Grab the beta drivers with OpenAL support, and EAX 4.0 from Creative's website. www.creative.com/support/
#2
Goto: http://developer.creative.com/articl...&top=38&aid=46 and grab the OpenAL.exe. Install this.
#3
Open "C:/Windows/system32" and find the file "OpenAL32.dll" and copy this file (do not paste it). Now open "C:/Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 2/" and find the file named "BF2OpenAL.dll" and rename it "BF2OpenAL.original". Now paste the file we got from your system32 folder. Rename this file "BF2OpenAL.dll". Start you game and set the sound to "Hardware", "High", and EAX enabled. If you go in-game and VoIP doesn't work then quit back to Windows and do the following. Start > Run > type "dxdiag". Goto the sound tab and slide the hardware acceleration to "Basic Acceleration". Restart the game and see if VoIP works. Most of the time it will work on either one or the other of these settings.
Also note that some servers have problems with VoIP. The patch coming at the end of August should address this issue.Comment
