Re: FIX: Paste ip address in the server browser

I have a NewB question. What can I do to put my stats (as lame as they are) in my signature? Many people have their name and stats on a picture... Is that some HTML code? Where does it go?

Thanks for not laughing at my stupid questions

None of the versions ever worked for me brother, and neither does your download link in your last post for v1.3, so i am waiting in line at filefront for 1.3 ill give that a shot.

Ive tried multiple ways, starting before starting the game, starting after etc...and when I ctrl+v nada....

        Windows XP home
        Geforce 6800GT
        AMD 64 bit 3200
        2 gigs ddr

        if that helps....

And for those who keep asking, "what good is this, why do you need/want it", heres the answer.....

We made an IP joiner for BF 1942 named the Lok-n-Loader, and people asked the same question, and think of it like this...

When you are the member of a squad, or have multiple friends that you are always online playing with and talking on say ventrilo or Team Speak...its a WHOLE lot easier for me to slap the IP of the server I am in by my name in Ventrilo for my other guys who may show up after I am in game already, and dont really wish to stop and read an IP to 10 people...so..all they need to do is simply, right click my name...click copy comment...the IP is added to their clipboard, they then are able to paste it in the server browser and join.

Same for say the lok-n-loader we made for Bf 1942...that utility allowed you to compile a list of favorite servers , and all you simply needed to do was launch the Lok-n-Loader...choose the server you wanted to join...and click LAUNCH BF, the utility would then launch the game...bypass the gay movies...auto load the appropriate mod that the server was running, and connect you with the click of one measley button...It would then shut itself off once the game launched as to not use any system resources,Id say that was alot eaiser than the alternative wouldnt you?

I can see that the LONE WOLF player might not benefit that much from it, being that they have no friends that need an IP, but then again, they would probably already be too busy fending of their dog trying to get that steak their mothers tied around their necks to get the dog to play with them...lol...sorry couldnt resist !

Anyway, Id say good work underplay...but I have not been able to get it to work yet....still trying 1.3. If it still dont work, no biggie...I personally can always remember long stings of complex numbers...and have no problem at all looking at an IP and going in game and typing it, but I was looking into it to provide to my squad members !

And for those who may still play BF 1942 and one of its many mods...if you wish to check out Clan Internationals BF1942 Lok-n-Loader...head on over here and check it out.

        http://www.fileplanet.com/files/130000/132156.shtml

Sorry underplay, but im not trying to stab you in the back, being that this utility is for 1942 and not BF 2, was considering updating to work with BF 2, but I just dont have the time....or do I ?...hmmm !

Anyway, thats my 2 cents !
See ya in the trenches peoplez !

          *UPDATE**

Underplay, I downloaded Version 1.3 and am happy to report that although the CTRL+V option does not work...the INSERT+HOME option does !!!

So I willl now say for the record....good work brother...lol

By the way, f you would like, I can write an installer for the force paste app. This would allow those less computer proficient to easily install the app to say c:/program files/Force_Paste/ as well as create a shortcut on their desktops etc.

I could also make you an Icon you can use...

I offered Yarin the creator of Yarins Mesh Viewer the same, but will be waiting for a more mature release.....

Anyway, let me know I could easily make you an installer....

          Again, great job.

          P.S.
As an afterthought....could you not make the force paste app to shut itself off once the user loads into the server?, or maybe add a settings form that a user could manually set a time to auto shut down after START button is pressed....just a thought.

The ctrl+v shortcut was only supported for the first few releases, when i noticed that the feature wasnt going to work the way I intended it to, I changed the shortcut.

About the application shutting down, its not programed to shutdown at anytime without the user doing so, im not sure whats going on there.

I dont think an installer or icon will be nessacerry, thanks anyway tho

Re: FIX: Paste ip address in the server browser

The reason I ask about the auto shutdown feature was

#1 I am one who is always aware of the processes running on his box,, as i am sure others are as well, even with the small footprint that the ForcePaste has.

#2 I was talking with a squad member and he heard somewhere that the ForcePaste had a bug where if it were still running when you shut down BF2 it messed up your clipboard or something, Most likely you already delt with that issue if indeed it was a issue. But again, would be nice to have it auto shut down, thats one less alt+tab youd have to do when using it.

And about the installer, just curious...why wouldnt you want to make it a whole hell of alot easier for people to use your app ?...Running a squad for 7 years now, as well as creating and releasing to the public 5 apps now myself, I have found that making a installer will help not only the MANY people who are not very computer proficient install the app ( many people dont even know how to get to c:/program files/ let alone MOVE a folder there and create a shortcut to an .exe.

But its your choice brother as i said just trying to help....If you ever change your mind just send me an email as I dont have a tendency of forgetting about forum threads and fail to keep track of them.

Wish you the best...peace 4 now

                      1) Whe minimized it uses 280k, otherwise ~1.5mb.

                      2) I dont think everyone that downloads ForcePaste wants a shortcut, startmenu entry, and installer entry for a 2 file project that they will rarely use.

                      3) I never heard anything about a bug that erases the clipboard.

Thanks for the input(no sarcasm intended).

                          Rampant Piper,
First load up Battlefield 2 and join a server "Remember the server name or IP" , then
Alt+Tab out of the game, staying in the server.
Then open a web browser and head on over to this website, http://www.game-
                          monitor.com/ServerSearch/
Once at this website, find the box named By Server Name / IP: ,Then click SEARCH.
This will then display a link to the the server you did a search for just below the
                          SEARCH boxes.
Click on the text link just below the SERVER NAME area, and then scoll down and you will
see a list of players in that server. Right next to your name, you will see a button
                          named SIG, click it.
It will bring you to a page that you can choose different options to customise your sig,
choose options you wish to have, then scroll down a little and you will find an area
named BBcode, simply copy all the text in that white box ( right click and copy ).
Then go to whatever forum you wish that sig ( with stats ) to show up on for your
signature, go into your profile area, and paste ( right click and paste ) the contents of
your clipboard in your SIGNATURE area in your profile..
Save your profile, and thats it...you should now be able to make a post and your BF2
stats should show up as your sig.

Sig will look something like this one.....

                          Code:
                          [URL="http://www.game-monitor.com/PlayerInfo/Whodat/"][img]http://www.game-
                          monitor.com/find-player/FFFFFF/000000/0000FF/000000/Whodat.png[/img][/URL]
Optionally, you can use the code that is in the HTML Code area to use to display your
stats/sig on a webpage if you have a website.
                          Code:
                          <a href="[URL="http://www.game-monitor.com/PlayerInfo/Whodat/"]http://www.game-monitor.com/PlayerInfo/Whodat/[/URL]" target="_blank"><img
                          src="[URL="http://www.game-monitor.com/find"]http://www.game-monitor.com/find[/URL]-
                          player/FFFFFF/000000/0000FF/000000/Whodat.png"></a>
Or use the IMAGE LINK code to display JUST a sig image like this one

                          650) {this.width=650;this.alt='Click to Enlarge';document.getElementById('http://www.game-monitor.com/find-player/FFFFFF/000000/0000FF/000000/Whodat.png');document.getElementById('http://www.game-monitor.com/find-player/FFFFFF/000000/0000FF/000000/Whodat.png').innerHTML=document.getElementById('ht tp://www.game-monitor.com/find-player/FFFFFF/000000/0000FF/000000/Whodat.png').innerHTML+'
                          [ Resized Image - Click to Enlarge ]';}" border=0>
                          650) {this.width=650;this.alt='Click to Enlarge';document.getElementById('http://www.game-monitor.com/find-player/FFFFFF/000000/0000FF/000000/Whodat.png');document.getElementById('http://www.game-monitor.com/find-player/FFFFFF/000000/0000FF/000000/Whodat.png').innerHTML=document.getElementById('ht tp://www.game-monitor.com/find-player/FFFFFF/000000/0000FF/000000/Whodat.png').innerHTML+'
                          [ Resized Image - Click to Enlarge ]';}" border=0>

                          Code:
                          http://www.game-monitor.com/find-player/FFFFFF/000000/0000FF/000000/Whodat.png
This process SHOULD be the same for any site you go to that offers this service, if you have seen players with sig/stats that are different than the one I outlined, I am sure it is a service of whoever they get the code from like the one I outlined, simply look on their sig for the name of the company, and their website, go there and find where they offer the same type of service, and as i said, I am sure its the same.

I hope this helped brother. If not....best I can do...lol

By the way, Disregard all that CRAP code you see inbetween the IMAGE LINK banner and example code box, its added by this forum system and is very annoying and tends to do it when adding images to a post. I submitted it as a bug, and they said they fixed it, but OBVIOUSLY not...lol

One of the more popular Sig/stat websites is http://bf2tracker.com/.

Their process is a bit different as you must create a user ID and login, then use their control panel to configure your sig, its pretty easy, and the end result is much better than the other stat/sig I used as refrence.

And Also so your aware, this program does NOT work for windows 2000. Incase you didnt know that ! It returns errors about uxtheme.dll, when uxtheme.dll is placed in the system directory, and then try to use the forcepaste again, you get an error about ntdll.dll, and sorry to say, that is a .dll that is already present and I am not going to replace it with a downloaded .dll lmao.

Anyway so your aware, does not work with win 2000.
