    Re: ATI Users

Previous card: Saphire 9800pro 128mb AGP, ran in low/medium mix, some vid lag @ start of maps, and it would tend to heat up a bit and CTD @ times...

2wks ago - upgraded: Saphire x800gto 256mb ddr3 ram, AGP. Catalyst 6.4's. Running in medium/high, 60-100fps consistently, and no CTD's. All for $150 on newegg

Creative 5.1 speakers, with supported Creative 5.1 software. With options on the main to convert to other inputs. It works brilliantly to be honest, but I'll look into it. Cheers man

P.s. 3x crashes in 30mins. Having a break from trying. Ran perfectly last night for about 4hours. Tonight, open bf2, open server, loading map to "Collisions" it freezes and I have to turn off computer. Loading again (After restart and all that), cuts to desktop on "Geometries". Load again... And it freezes 10mins into the game.
I updated my catalyst driver 6.2 to 6.4 lastnight. No probs happened thereafter til now. again. great. Any help?

Specs. 64bit processor, Gig of Ram, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256Mb gfx card, and three fans on full.
that sounds awful. you did set your sound options to "software" in the game, correct? Ok...other possibles:

possible problems (in descending order): bad install of BF2; bad drivers/windows interface/.dll's; defective stick of memory, an HD issue (unlikely, but possible--I was tinkering around with some legacy HD's in an old build and it kept rebooting unexpectedly, found out the pin was broken when the HD wouldn't talk when I put it into a USB enclosure), or it could be a PSU issue.

Solutions are to reinstall BF2; run a memcheck program on your RAM; visually inspecting your HD; reinstall windows; or "rent" a PSU using your credit card at best buy, and if it is the PSU, return it and buy one from newegg.

You should post your problem under "support"-->"tech center" and ask for other fixes, also see what other folks have done to fix their problems.

        XFI-Extreme music

computer crashes after 20-40 minutes of game play, screen goes black, rest of the computer acts like it is responding, using Omega Drivers latest version as of post.

Downloaded ATI tool, when i lower the clock speeds of the card it works fine for hours.

I've opened up and clean the internals, reinstalled Audigy 2 ZS driver from Creative Official, unistalled and "erased" alot on my harddrive, ran a disk defrag, reinstalled bf2, downloaded 1.3 (Not incremental) and installed. Restart. Ran bf2 and comp crashed on collisions. No longer blaming Bf2. Or ATI. Seems it was my Audio driver, but failing that, seems it is now my sound card. great. Thanks anyway

I have a Dell XPS Gen 4 with the ATI X850 XT PCI-E Platnium Edition video card and I crash to the desktop after selecting single player or multiplayer after trying to create an account. I've been on the phone all day with EA and they say they will get back to me. I've installed the game in safe mode along with the full patch. Still the same problem. If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears. Thanks!

i've got 6.7 omega but every driver ive had has given me the same corrupt textures after 2 or 3 levels. first the black blocks appear. then the text goes all wonky. then everything else goes sharp and mushy around the crosshair and i cant see anything.

That's almost got to be an overheating problem. Do you have enough fans? Dusted out the case recently? What card do you have?

I have the X800 and it has been a little sketchy only today; little laggy on the 6.8 drivers. So I am gonna switch back to 6.7 which should be a little more stable.

Also did the full patch install and that seemed to solve my lag problems with the 6.8 for the time being.

Oh yah adjust your refresh rate in your monitor properties.
