Yeah, it's still a bit confusing to me as well. You can't count the two main bases. And in the beginning of the game, the USMC controls 3 bases and MEC controls 2 bases. If MEC controls one more does the ticking start (3 out of 5) and if USMC controls one more does the ticking start (4 out of 5)?Originally posted by BridgerWhy do we need 5/7 (4/5 not including uncapturable bases) flags to actually start ticket drain? Simply having 4/7 (3/5) isn't enough? Since when did BF require 75% map control to drain tickets and not 51%?
This really screws up the game IMHO, because we were consistantly holding 4/7 (3/5) flags for the entire last half of the game but it made no difference at all! We don't get rewarded for righting back?
It's still not clear.Comment

Re: How Does the Scoring Work?
I am still confused by the ticket system.
It seems to me on certain maps all you reall need to do is hold a key flag, such as kubra damn - intake. And you end up winning.
And it doens't seem to me that for every death I see a ticket is lost either.Comment

Re: How Does the Scoring Work?
How old is this thread you revived!!!!!!!!!!!! christ.
Anyway, its not at the death you lose the ticket, its when you respawn again. If a medic revives you you dont lose the ticket, thats why medics are so important.
Also if it goes down to the wire at the end and your both on say 5 tickets each, sensible people will NOT respawn when they die and if a few people are clever enough to do this then you can win by not losing the last few tickets.
The ticket bleed is from flags is simply not very important compared to killing the enemy for ticket loss... UNLESS its a map where you can capture all the enemy flags (sharqui and karkand being 2) and then you will win by default when they are all taken and the last enemy on the field dies.Comment

Re: How Does the Scoring Work?
Capturing all of the flags is pointless if you're giving away half of your tickets doing so: concentrate on killing the enemy and make sure they're not revived. Of course, keeping flag superiority helps to take additional tickets through the bleed...
On another note, I LOVE gravedigging: can I poke the corpse ??Comment

Re: How Does the Scoring Work?
Yeha - I know it was waaaaaay old - but it was the only one to some up when I searched, and I didn't want to start a new one and get the "try the search option you boob".
Anyways - this is interesting info. I'm going to test and verify it out on a stand alone server with 2 people playing to see how it goes.
I jsut never see the tickets drop by more then a couple at a time. although I see many guys re-spawning. I don't doubt you, it's just that it is weird.
And ... it's too bad. I always focus on flag cap/defend and team work - it seemed to make the most difference in the tickets.. but evidently not.
so basically the fastest path to victory could be considered spawn camping...Comment

Re: How Does the Scoring Work?
The ticket bleed is only 1 ticket every 6 seconds if you can get enough flags, the main reason for capturing lots of flags is that then the enemy has to attack YOU and you are more likely to kill more as defenders, plus you have more vehicles
Karkand is a classic example, its best as USA to take all the flags on your side of the river and hold there, seeing as the 2 choke points are suicidal in those conditions you will always win from there just by parking your armour on your side of the bridge/land bridge and killing anything that tries to cross, trying to make it over yourself often leads to a lose or at least a much closer end-score.Comment
