I read in the BF2 manual, or somewhere official from DICE through EA, that they actually recommend that you turn off antivirus protection before playing BF2. So whether or not it's risky, it's "officially endorsed" so to speak.

It happend to me in the demo. What are his specs? It's probably just a hardware problem.

Okay I've also expierenced this, ever since installing an audigy 2 zs plat

I've read it may be EAX issue with the game very similar to HL2 and CSS "keyboard sticking"

However I've not found one definite solution or cited exact cause.

My symptom is just simply like I'm holding the key down, very intermitant.

What kind of sound card are you using? SB?
I'm thinking sound driver issue not Hware, sound related not keyboard.

I'm not certain but from my end it looks like the EAX is switching between effect styles and this is hanging up the input. I only thiink this becuase I see the audio console EAX tab change while playing.

Also check and see if you are set at 64 on your PCI latency in Bios I was at 32 and I read somewhere 64 was what to set it to.

This has been happing to me alot lately, I thought it was my keyboard but it only seems to happen in BF2.

Oh am I am using a Wired keyboard on the PS/2 port

Are you using ventrilo to speak to each other? More specifically, is your lil' friend using a hold-down key to talk? If so, im almost positive that this is what is causing the problem as I had this in another game. Change your input settings to voice activation level or something and give it a go.

Keyboard issue maybe? My old keyboard keys used to get stuck sometimes, just got a new one about a week ago hasnt happened since.

i got this problem once on UT......it was the keyboard

it only happened in that game.......and was intermitent like u.......but this was a few years ago

maybe try a third keyboard if u hadnt yet

Yeah I am using vent to talk, although changing it to voice activation isnt a option

I suppose I'll try a new keyboard...

Sounds like a input problem and maybe a windows problem. Or your "guild" leader is a moron
