Lag problems

Alright, I'm running on a geforce 7600 GS. I can play the demo on high, and ETQW on high, but I can't even play 2142 on LOW. At first I was running it at 1024x768@60, then I changed to 800x600. I updated my nvidia drivers to 163.71 and I still get unplayable lag ingame. It isn't my internet connection, I have high speed, and play servers with about 40 ms. Any ideas on how to fix this crap? Would be appreciated.

I think the problem is that you are using drivers that are too new, your 7600 is quite old (similar age to my 7800GTX). When I tried newer drivers (93.xx) my game was unplayable, I easily lost 50% of my FPS, so I went back to my trusted older set of drivers. I still use the 84.21's for all the games I play and get no problems.

Your 7600 should play 2142 at your monitors native rez with most settings at medium (NO AA) and get a decent FPS.
