But this is where you have the ability as a sniper to out-play, out-think, an out-wit the enemy...

Your next spot should give you a clear vantage point not only on your previous spot to know where it's safe to fall back to, but also on a new enemy-controlled area.

So as you are lining up your next victims, look back at your old spot occasionally as you wait for those 2/3 enemies to look for you, then take them out.
Exactly. The best snipers in MOH and COD would use these tactics, and it was pretty impressive to see.

Recently killed oppts would come back and pitch nades to where the sniper used to be, with no effect. They would then be picked off by him/her from the new location.

That's the kind of thinking and tactics one has to admire, instead of just finding a semi-glitchy or clipping spot on a map where a sniper can shoot from with almost no worry of being killed.

Personally, this is the reason I never go sniper hunting. The good ones want you to come after them. It's all part of the game. I especially fear the Overkill perk now that will let said sniper tote an MP5 or similar around as a backup weapon.

If you really hate snipers, play as one. Really, that's what I did in BF2. I learned where the good sniper spots were, what the tactics were. Then I knew where to expect fire from and where to look/avoid. It made my primary class (Assault) a lot more fun to play since I didn't need to fear the sniper any more.

In many games, sniper kills are opportunity kills. Players that get caught in the open at the wrong time. The "real" snipers will be able to consistently get kills anyway, but if you avoid the easy kills, it makes it easier to know when you're up against someone good.

I just want to find a spot where if I am found, they cant lob a grenade at me, and where they have to stand in my field of view to shoot at me. That way they know I'm there but they still die.

You're saying you pretty much want to be able to shoot other players, without any chance of being shot yourself. Where's the sport or skill in that?

The kind of spot you're talking about is almost a glitch - a poorly designed spot on a map. Exploiting that, although technically "legal", is kinda lame, IMO.

Honestly, stuff like that is what makes a lot of people hate snipers in the first place. Think of it this way - if EVERYONE on a map did that, how much fun would it be?
