If deamon tools is giving you problems, uninstall and install back when you need it. Or just switch to a different program, Power ISo is good

We have an 24/7 Camp Gibraltar where we allow rooftops via RXD or PodSurfing. The server is located in Texas but a lot of our European members (mainly UK) don't usually have a lot of laggggg issues.

You can join us there and see how it works out for you.

You guys don't think pod-surfing breaks maps like Gibralter? I have no issue with using a beacon to get to the top of a roof of a building it's placed next to, but outright pod surfing kind of wrecks the flow on Gibralter, IMO. You want a flag in the rear on that map, stick the active camo in your kit and go get it. Surfing in from the other side of the map waters down what Gibralter is supposed to be about, to me. *shrug*

Not passing judgement on anybody, just sayin'...

Meh, how about the classic run along the outside of the wall place spawn beacon? Not pod surfing and 100% legal and a great surprise.

I know where you're coming from but to be honest there are trillions of servers out there that enforce no pod-surfing or roofs on Gibraltar. It's nice to have a couple that are no-holds-barred. It makes for very interesting games. I love the 3-D element to highroofing. Keeps you on your toes when the other guy's good at it too.

That will get you banned from our server if an admin sees it. Personally, that's cheaper than pod surfing. At least you can see the pod dropping in.

Well thats funny, you have better chances of spotting and stopping em if they're coming along the outside them by pod surfing.

You can see them coming and shoot them on the outside from the wall without much trouble. Not to mention both sides can use this strategy to recap or capture rear flags, both sides are just as vulnerable and require team work to succeed.

God knows I've spawned on a beacon placed on the INSIDE of the wall and frigging ended up on the outside often enough.

I don't think I'd have any more of a problem with that than I do with using the beacon to get to the top of a building. Break off the course with your pod and steer it (more or less straight) down someplace else. If that's on the inside of the wall when the beacon's on the outside... m'eh. Good on ya.

                      Just don't pod-surf with it.

Well don't get me wrong... I don't have a problem with guys getting on the roof in Gibralter via a well placed beacon. I just don't like seeing seeing some guy come surfing in from the PAC uncap to land on the roof or backdoor a flag.

I don't really see what the big fuss is over, once 1.4 comes out all of this will be over because pod surfing will be legal if you guys have read the changelog.

thats what was listed a while back

I think what he's say and what I understand from the change log in 1.4 is that whatever happens after 1.4 is out is considered legit with the pod or at least thats the way they made it sound (including getting on roofs).

Nope, reread the change log. It reduces it so you can no longer fly around the map. But they intend for you to be able to move small distances to get on top of roofs. That should end all of this rooftop fighting.

Yes, DICE is attempting to cut down pod-surfing abilities with 1.4

Yes, DICE has also claimed pod-surfing to be legitimate.

Yes, pod surfing has been reportedly still possible in 1.4, or so beta patch users have claimed.

They can't fix their game and give up, IMO. If rooftop-ing is allowed, why can't a person place the beacon inside a hallway that goes through the building, like in Berlin, and completely get rid of pod movement?
