Yes it is good enough. Depends on the resolution though. The massive resolutions could be a little tough though. I would say upto 1600x1200 it's very good. After that you might need to tweak some settings down. Depends on your definition of playable frame rates.
I have the 320MB 8800 GTS, also Intel Core2 E6420 (overclocked from 2.1 to 3.1 GHz) and 2 GB of RAM. I like to play at 1024x768 res because I find it hard to read text at higher resolution. I have everything maxed out (shadows, lighting, the lot) with 4xAA and 16xAF. It runs silky smooth, probably never below 60 fps
You want to buy another gig of ram for your system to make the most of it, since high settings require a lot of memory (not only from video card but also from system RAM point of view).
You will want to have at least these things to accommodate your new card.
2GBs of RAM
Dual Core 2.4Ghz Processor
160GB Hard Drive for playing all the mods
But personally I would prefer a black box with no LEDs or flashy lights. It would make me smile everytime I just would think what's under the hood so no need to show off. The plastic cube makes it acceptable since it makes it an art deco piece. If the LEDs would just be in a "regular" case I would be appalled.
But it's always good to remember that you can't buy skill but it helps a long way to have a solid gaming machine.
