Can't install 2142

Hey guys!
I'm pretty new to these forums and they look pretty nice, hopefully you guys can help me out?
The problem is, when I throw in my 2142 cd into my D drive, I get this error saying "Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format not compatible with Windows"
I have no idea what to do! Any suggestions / ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried hitting the eject button, and then putting it back in?

Also, does it show up in the D: drive(or whatever drive it is) when you insert the CD/DVD in My Computer?
