Um, we already tested it today with Stonecold, we got 350 meters max, anything farther and it fogs up. We're planning to test tomorrow on Minsk if ya wanna come
Aww 350? What about getting a 3rd person with a pulse scanner to give a red diamond, and sniping that? Or does the red diamond fade out by that distance?

355 was the "official" "unofficial" distance, what we managed to shoot.

Hmm wasn't the longest kill in BF2 like 550 meters? Sad that they reduced the effective range on the rifles.
Don't know about that 550m, but i saw video on YouTube where this one dude sniped to 400m.
I have a feelin that you can snipe 400m in bf2142. But since you can't see that far with the scope(atleast not in Sidi or Suez). So you have to improvise, for example your pulse scanner idea could work.
I don't remember the times when i got my Zeller, but i remember this one duel with some random sniper few weeks ago.
I was playing Fall of Berlin(as usual) as PAC, and there was enemies dropping to the roof in the crossroads(alley side). I decided to do some roof clearing, i made squad and invited ppl to it. I put beacon near one building in our base. I got to the roof and noticed that there was two guys on the roof and they are both snipers. First guy was static and was crouched near the ledge, and the other was running around the roof.
So i proned near one of those blocks, took aim to the static enemy at first, kill him with easy headshot. After the other guy sees his buddy getting killed, he spots me. I quickly stood up took cover behind the block. I zoomed in with the scope and moved bit to the open from the right side, i see him zeroed in on me and we both shoot at the same time. I hitted him and he hitted me. I quickly move behind the block again.
I looked at my energy and it was in 21, so he has Zeller too... I tought that he must still be behind the block hiding too, so i decided to change my spot, i cloacked and moved behind the second block. I take i quick peak around the corner and see that his buddy has re-podded. I tought s*** i have no change if they both start shooting at me. I was lucky and the spawned buddy didn't know that i was there, i saw him jumping down to lower roof and go prone to the little ledge. I knew that he couldn't shoot me from there.
So i started to stalk on the better sniper, i scoped up and started lookin for him, i spotted him and he spotted me for few times and we exchanged some sniper fire, but we both missed.
I decided to change spot, again cloack on and sprint behind the other block. I waited there for a while before showing where i was.
After a bit i started to scan the roof again. I spotted barrel of his rifle at the edge of the roof and realized that he was on the ledge, so i didn't have shot on him. So i stood up and started to look for their beacon, and found it on top of one of those blocks. I shot it to end their fun on the roof for good(atleast for a while). Then crouched again and started to wait for the sniper to pop up.
Little while went by and he finally got up. I saw him slowly coming behind that block and aiming(apparently to my old hiding spot). I took my aim right to his chest, and when he noticed me it was already too late for him. I finally shot the other sniper from the lower roof and then i jumped down.
Mission Accomplished. :salute:
These kinda rounds are fun sniper times too.
Phew, imo, you could've just thrown a nade at him after the first hit...
