Cd key is already registered with an account

I got bf2142 when it came out and it worked perfectly. I stopped playing for a long time and recently decided to get back into it. I pop in the disc, put in the cd key everything works fine. When I get into the game i put in the user name and password and I get this error message. Can anyone tell me why i'm getting this and how to fix it?
