Control/Alt/Delete and Alt Tab both ONLY work when you are in the Main Menu (i.e. not in a game)

There really is no fix for this other than the sentence above.

Just press the WinKey, it automatically opens your start menu and minimizes any game.

WinKey is disabled in BF games (though you can assign it to in game keys, like squad menu). Alt+Tab tends to crash BF2142 on Dual Core CPUs. Ctrl+Alt+Del is an alternative for getting to the desktop, but also crashes the game on Dual Core CPUs. There is currently no fix other then to set your affinity to single core via bios or in the Windows Task Manager, but this cuts your preformence in half.
