RDX question

Is there a maximum range for the detonator to work, I could I stick some to a transport and let it fly to the other side of the map before boom?

I ask because I remember at some point (it may have been playing as Spec Ops in BF2) that I loaded something up with C4/RDX and when I clicked nothing happened. I figured I was too far away.

As far as I know No there is no distance. Having said that its worth testing out lol.

i tested it in shuhia taiba on my own server (local) i placed 5 of em on a transport flew to other side to map where i placed my gunship and took myself to the titan and bwam it did worked cuz i looked at commander screen.
