    Almost a Year... Happy Anniversary??

So, it’s almost at the one year anniversary of 2142. I was anxious this time last year waiting for the release because I had joined the Battlefield 2 community so late, and the hype made it look like it had potential to be a great FPS. I played for a couple of months and loved it, but was soon deterred after a while due to exploits/cheaters on all the Korean area servers I was on. I’ve gotten back into it since I’ve returned to the US and have noticed that the game has declined a lot faster than I thought it would.

I was just wondering if I’m alone in my thoughts on this, and if not, why others think this has happened. DICE being bought out? Different priorities by DICE/EA on games? Exploiter/Cheaters messing up the gaming community?

I’m sad to see the game going this way (downhill fast). It has been my favorite since I started playing, and I’m back to enjoying it once again. I really hope I can continue to enjoy playing in the future.

I wish they would surprise us on 10/17/07 with the 1.4 patch and/or an expansion. That would be nice.

The game just wasn't the correct extension strategy to the BF series.

BF2142 was rushed to get it out before all of these other "new technology" games hit the market. Fortunately(unfortunately?) these other games have been delayed many times, pushing their release dates far back. Remember, ETQW and Crysis were both "supposed" to come out last year.

I'm hoping for a nice surprise from DICE this Fall, but I won't be too disappointed if it doesn't arise. I'm having too much fun with TF2 and getting my nads handed to me in the Crysis beta to go emo over it.
