Microsoft repair for crashing between rounds???

Let's see... Vista 32 bit, 4 megs o'ramm, quad core, 8800GTXs, you know the problems, crash, crash, crash. I was about to try the 3GB enabler to see if that would fix my problems but while nosing around the Microsoft site, I ran across this hotfix article. It's an article entitled "Virtual address space usage in windows game development". At the end there is "almost" a fix. It is file number 940105. I downloaded and installed it and ... it almost, sorta, works pretty good. At least, I'm not crashing at the end of EVERY SINGLE round. I actually went through several rounds and did not get that "clunk" sound and then have to struggle back to the desktop. It's a little edgy tho'. It seems like I lose some colors in the pages while loading, almost like it was just dieing to crash, but it did load and continue every time. The only thing was when I did decide to stop playing and I pressed my ESC key it gave me the "clunk" and the message " BF2142 has stopped working" instead of going back to the BF2142 main menu. Still, if that's the worse thing I get, I can live with it for now, especially considering the pain and misery I've had with it in the last few weeks. Good luck to you if you try it.

how are you running on 4 MB of ram?

i think you mean gigs, and you need 64 bit to support that much
