amazing new idea for clan tags!

all the bf2 veterans (like me) get a fancy little 2 above their names, and on the tab screen......

basicly it would add alot of variety to player names if they could customize this image. and clans could have a symbol with their name aswell as the usual tag prefix.

maybe even making the image a few pixelsbigger. i know this could cause slower load times to connect to online servers but a small 10x10 pixel image is nothing these days on the internet.

players could then have 3 options in the menu screen
: none
: custom image
: veteran status (only unlocked to veterans)

what you guys think?

I know 10 X 10 pixels isn't much, but people can be amazingly creative when the opportunity for immaturity arises.

Certain MMORPGs allow you to create your own guild symbol from existing templates.
I would prefer that approach.

yeh i have one of those fancy little 2's thanks.

and yeh so many people would be WAY to immature (like in cs:s, some servers are effectively playing css surrounded by naked images of balls and tits)

im going to have a go at making my own, i found the dds file for the 2 and its just trail and error to find right coding method for the file.... ill post back to show how it went, but atm im currently re-installing due to replacing the client_menu archive in a moment of quick mouse and file moving ooops. LOL

It's actually quite a good idea. I tried to get the veteran thingy but I had to create a new account to have that "2" so I didn't cause I was already doing well. Is there any way to be veteran now or something?

All soldiers on your account should get the status, so if you register and create a new soldier, your old ones should update too.

And what about what Halo 2 did? You could make emblems by yourself, they had a few presets and you could customize the colors/background.
