    2142 Defrillibrator Key Mapping

    Hello,

I've recently picked up 2142, started playing a week ago...

And after learning the game, I've run into a problem.

I have a G5 mouse, and the left side button would be perfect to map my defrillibrator to (assault class).

However, thanks to the different slots, if I put rockets + defrillibrator on my Assault kit, they randomly switch from Weapon 5 to Weapon 6, and vice versa. So sometimes my mouse button will switch to the defrillibrator, and sometimes it'll switch to rockets.

Is there any way to hack the INI files to make my mouse button 3 consistently go to defrillibrator?

the reason it switches is because your choosing from voss, or scar/kylov. they switch around for some reason. and no there is no way to switch it around.

So what you're saying is that depending on my gun, it changes the slot? So if I only use the VOSS, it'll stay the same?

Actually I have the same mouse and what it is is the box you are dropping the unlock in, determines the number you use.

For example; if you drop the rockets on the left side of the soldier, that will be number 5. If you drop the rockets on the right side of the soldier, it is 6. (BTW, I dont know which number is which box by memory, you will have to try it.)

So try always putting your defib in the same unlock box and it should work for you, it did for me.

If it still doesnt work for you then you may just be a freak of nature or I am very lucky that it works for me.

hmmmm...or maybe IM the freak?

I don't think it is that simple. Every time I equip the Krylov the defib becomes 6 instead of 5...

So, I just use the Baur all the time ftw.

Sticking to a single assault weapon is your solution.

I loaded up and tested and turns out that I am a freak.

The unlock guns Voss/Baur make the defib 5.

The stock guns Krylov/Scar make the defib 6.

              No work around on it.

                    Yep very annoying:wall:

When I'm revived with a different kit I always have to check which number it's mapped to, and if the action is intense enough either I'd lose a revive or get shot while hunting for the defib.:wall:

I primarily play assault for my team. I just used the Voss until recently I started using the Krylov. Now when I have the Krylov equipped and go to revive more times than not I equipt rockets by accident and shoot whoever i'm trying to revive in the face with some rockets.

                        Ouch!

"Thanks for the medical attention, but did you need to rocket me in the face?"

                        lolz

Indeed, it is true that whatever weapon you're using determines it. I've been using the Voss exclusively and now it's stuck at 5. Thanks, guys.

See i'm the kind of player that can play BF severaal hundred hours and still not even notice there's something funny about the key mappings, allthough i'm frequently using different assault weapons. Strrrrange... :O

All classes suffers from this, and it not only your weapon choice that affects it.
The combination of unlocks you use can also change it.
Its been a while, but as far as I remember having the Clark12-RDX in a unlock slot will also mess it up.
