The freezing of the game was the pre-effects of the 50% loading. A lot of people had this happen to them this last week. I don't know why is suddenly happened to everybody just all at the same time but here's the fix. Too many threads on this issue. People should try SEARCH.

Mine does the same thing. A couple minutes into the game I get kicked from the server, the window just says "Punkbuster." No error message, nothing. A blank box that says "Punkbuster" in the corner. Then I try to rejoin, crashes to desktop. I love this game...

This issue I found out is due to the firewall blocking UDP traffic which PnkBstrB.exe uses to comunicate, for me i just uninstalled the firewall since i have 2 others but if you don't have that luxury you will have to create a rule in the firewall allowing UDP traffic on port XXXXX. You will have to look at your firewall logs in order to get the port #.

Yeah, screw this game then. I'm not opening my computer to unsavory people out there because Punkbuster wants to install spyware. The same thing has happened to BF2. I guess their solution to hackers is to make sure that no one can play. Then there are no hackers! :)

It isn't spyware thats getting installed, it was more than likely an update that occured that closed that port or moved the bnkbstrb service to a different port.

I'm haveing the "pnkbstrB.exe failed to execute" problem.

It started, right after changing to Mcfee service.
I log in to BF2142, select a server, kit up, enter the game and get booted. Close everything, restart the computer. Log in to 2142, kit up - and I'm good. At least until I restart the compter again later.
