its not the key packets thing, i go in, after about 3 min or so, "Punkbuster: "

Clear cookies and delete history.

Clear out the cache in BF2142 folder in C drive.

Delete folder for BF2142 in C drive.

Delete anything related to BF2142 in your computer.

Delete all the key reg's for BF2142 in regedit.

Restart P.C.

Defragment your P.C.

Restart your P.C.

Virus scan your P.C.

Reinstall BF2142.

Restart your P.C.

Install patch 1.25 for BF2142.

Restart your P.C.

Update Punkbuster manually.

Restart your P.C.

Play BF2142.

You missed "Solve world hunger" and "Find cancer cure"

This method fixes my "communication service error" when i get it.

1. Get PBSVC.exe from Evenbalance

http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php...ort-bf2142.php(scroll down a bit to "Wednesday 04.18.2007 [5:00PM]" and click on the underlined PBSVC.


2. Get PBsetup

http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

When you have downloaded both of them, run PBSVC.exe(make new folder and put them both there).

And here comes the fancy images

3. Run PBSVC

4. Select "Unistall/Remove PunkBuster Service


5. Click "Yes"


6. When it says "Finished" click "Finish"



7. Then go to your Battlefield 2142 install directory. There is folder called "PB", delete the whole thing.



8. Then run the PBSVC.exe again. And select "Install/Re-install Punkbuster Service.


9. Click "I agree"


10. When it says "Finished" click "Finish"


11. Then run the PBsetup

12. And select "Add a Game". From drop down menu select BF2142 and all other games what has PB and is installed to your PC.


13. When you have added the games(for me it's these). Click "Check for Updates"


14. Then downloads newest files, and updates for your games.


When the update is done, close PBsetup and start the game.

You might wanna keep the PBSVC and PBsetup in your PC, so you don't need to search for them next time when PB starts to mess with you. I have them in the same folder where all my games are installed.

Hopefully this helps... :salute:

That method usually fixes my "PB service communication error".

Did u delete the PB folder from the Battlefield 2142 folder?

What error message you get ingame before you get kicked?

Last night i fixed the "handshaking" thingy with this method.

Is your firewall open for pnkbstrA and pnkbstrB?
