update punbkuster using pbsetup

Then open MSCONFIG, just type it in the search bar and go to the services tab and make sure the Punkbuster process is ticked and allowed to run

Why BF2142 has to run as admin:

BF2142 needs to run as admin so it will have read/write/modify access to the punkbuster directory, so changes can be made to it during game play. If not running as admin, then no r/w/m access and punkbuster kicks you out.

Also, manually updating punkbuster using pbsetup (located here: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php) should help.

I don't run 2142 as administrator, I just made sure punkbuster had the services installed and running and that it was up to date and it just works. BF2 on the other hand, is a totally different ordeal...
