Non Ranked Servers

Maybe this is a silly question but I cannot find non ranked servers with the server browser...how is it done?

In bf2 I prefered to play in unranked servers to improve my infantary skills because normally the ubber leet players were in that servers (like Waib).

Anyone know a server where only the good/very good infantary players gather?

Plenty of good people play ranked.....

But anyway, make sure that the ranked filter is not selected on the advanced tab if you want to find the unranked servers

Well most of the Pro's play in unranked password'd servers so there goes your logic, when not in there they play ranked. But to do it you just untick the ranked box.

There are several reasons:

In bf2 the really good players played mainly in unranked servers (at least here in europe), I started to play better infantary in those servers. I though I was a good player in bf2 when a clan mate took me out of the ranked servers and showed me some unranked ones where I was totally and completly owned by everyone (I was a 2:1 k/d ratio infantary player in ranked servers).

I don´t know if this is the trend in 2142, this game never has reached the popularity of bf2 and don´t know if there are ubber leet players playing in unranked servers to train to wars.

The main reasons are also what happened to me in the last few weeks:

I was on a Spanish server and an entire clan started to call me cheater and banded together just to chase me in the server.

I was banished from a server I liked to play because they called me a hacker.

Yesterday I was on a french server and a guy started tobitch with me that I was owning him with a walker to get down and play infantary, and after I killed him two more times on foot he started a vote kick.

After a few pk rockets people start whining that I use gay weapons.

And all the vote kicks...sigh...there isn´t a day when someone doesn´t start a vote kick against you, I am over 35 and I really get a little tired of all the complaining.

Because I don´t know what it is ...Is it good? Let me guess, it´s Karkand in bf2142?

I will try it tonight.

P.S. - I read it in another post that clans use clan mod to play this game, maybe that´s why I can´t find unranked servers, the one´s that have players are not vanila, hope with clan mod and first strike I can enjoy this game more :).

All good points; I see where you're coming from. I'm in the US so there are quite a few servers running infantry maps with serious players but we still do sometime get those 'gay weapons' arguments in-game. What I usually do is find servers that have 32-40 players; these tend to have more serious players.

Have you thought about joining a local clan? You might have to anyway to get into some of these unranked servers.

Your K/D (2.8) and Accuracy (31%) looks pretty good by-the-way; it's no surprise that some will call you a hacker. I'm only shooting at 28% with a K/D of 2.2 and I got accused of using an aimbot a couple of times already.

I havnt installed it but it looked good on you tube-it is 2142 in karkand;and from the sounds of it could be exactly what your looking for...check the forums for details or google it...IM going to install this modw when I start playing again it looks sh*t hot and there isn't an official expansion on the horizon for 2142

The k/d ratio and accuracy is just the way I play, I allways try to be behind a crate or a wall, and people tend to run in your direction so you just have to duck, raise, shoot and get a kill...if I get caught in the middle of nowhere my chances drop a lot, as my accuracy, i have dificulty in hitting people running sideways.

By the way, tried clan mod and was totally owned, as I thought the average player in the server was much better than the pubs...mainly when I was using the scar...grrr i hate the gun.

I've been experimenting with a lot of different playing styles for infantry (Assault-medic) and found that I could maintain a K/D of about 3:1 when I play it safe like you said "duck, raise, shoot" but the problem with that is my Score Per Minute goes down to about .5:dead: I have a double goal of maintaining a higher SPM and K/D so I have to run-n-gun a lot more... which means I die a lot more too

I think I've reached the limit of my skills because I can't seem to maintain a higher SPM than a low 2.x and a K/D of a low 2.x...:hmm:... maybe I should get into bunny hopping:evil::nod:

I don't have much more trouble shooting sideway runners but I do prefer it when they're running straight towards or away from my barrel:nod: My real trouble is when they're really close (1-2 meters) and bunny hopping... if I get a kill it would basically be pure luck since all I'm doing is spraying-n-praying for a hit:p

I tried to get into ClanMod but all the servers I see must not be located in the US at all since of the 100+ ClanMod servers running the lowest ping I could get is about 170... which is simply suicidal when playing at that level:dead: (my pings to other US pub servers is often down to 25-40 range) Aside from the ping issue the vast majority of these servers are password locked

Too bad you're not based in the US else we can buddy up for some serious infantry action.:salute:

These days in Bf2142 i can usually keep a KD of about 5:1 and spm of 3 just pure Inf. i get Better KD's in Vec's but my SPM drops.

Timmmmmy i dont think i can recall a time where i have ever seen you out of a walker except when its been in flames from which you head straight for the walker spawn point lol. Then again I do recall being killed by you driving the golieth once or twice.

LoL. That's because On NS i whore walkers.Only on vanilla do i go Inf.
