  • Crashing Problem

Hey all, I need help desperately with a problem of mine.

When I'm playing, around 10-20 minutes into playing my PC will lockup and I am forced to hard boot to restart. It's very frustrating.

I have tried the following to fix my problem:

Reinstalled graphics drivers 2x (after that didn't work, I tried 3rd party drivers, still didnt work)
    Reinstalled sound card drivers
    Reinstalled Punkbustr
    Cleared the BF2142 Cache
    Renamed radial.cbd
Set all graphics settings to minimum
Undid my overclocks and reset BIOS to default.
    Updated DirectX

I'm at my wits end here, I simply cannot figure out why the game keeps crashing, if anyone could offer a solution it would be greatly appreciated

    My system:

    E6700
    Radeon X1950XTX
    2Gb SuperTalent PC-550

Do you have VOIP on? If so try disabling it.
Try turning off firewalls and anti-virus temporarily, to see if that helps.
I'm not sure about Intel dual cores and whether you need to set affinity or install a cpu driver.
    Are you running vista?

Win XP Professional, will try turning VOIP off later.

I fairly confident its not a CPU problem as the problem only started happening fairly recently

Well, disabled my firewall and turned VOIP off and the problem still exists.

I'm at the end of my rope here any other suggestions?

EDIT: It's only with BF too, no other game has this problem, Bioshock, WoW Etc.

Next time it happens go to control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event viewer and look in there for errors which might give you a clue of the cause.
Another thing you can try is running the game in windowed mode by changing the shortcut target to "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 0
