Joystick buttons, WTFXZORS?!

I have a joystick, and I swear this didnt happend before but I dunno why everytime I restart BF2142 and I got to controls>aircraft the two buttons that I had set for steer left and steer right disappear. And I know a simple way to fix it is to put it everytime, but I really dont want to it gets quite annoying, and it didnt happend like this before, so there should be a way for it to stay there, can someone please help

I've had the same problem since 2142 first came out and I've never found a way to fix it either. I've always used a program called JoyToKey with online games so I can use a button on my gamepad to talk in TeamSpeak (eg while flying in the BF series) so I just bound the default keys that the game kept restoring to the buttons I wanted on my gamepad.
