    Hosting Unranked server problems

    Ok,
I have downloaded the most recent server files for an unranked server and installed etc. I configured all the settings and instead of having to open the required ports i am just going to set dmz and turn my firewall off when the server is up. I set and map list, saved, and started the server. I load the game and connect to it. The only problem is that it only appears on my local server list and i cannot make it show the main server list (tried turning all filters off). I am still waiting for someone in my clan to come online and try connecting through my name, but i have a feeling it won't work. The ip is showing for the server at the moment is 192.168.1.39 (which is the same as my router?) and port : 17567.
Does anyone who has successfully done this before know where i have gone wrong? should i be using a differnet ip, and if so how do i do this?

get your external IP and see if your clan mates can connect via that IP and Port

Tried this but the server would not even start. Went back to using the router ip and mamanged to get the server shwoing on the main list. When i go to load in though i freezes at 1% loaded and stays like that. Updated pb server files etc. I can still load in fine through local but not through the server list. When loading in local the server information shows an ip and the correct number of rounds on the map. But when trying through the main list there is a (:0) for an ip and always 0 for map rounds.

192.168.*.* is not a valid internet address, it is reserved for LAN
Your router assigns those addresses to your network, and will also have its own unique IP-address on the LAN. Typical something like 192.168.1.1
It can not have the same address as your PC.

Externally the router will have your "real" internet address as shown by Scinto, and that is the address your friends should use.
But without port forwarding or DMZ they will just see your router, which probably wont have any BF2142 games running .
