Replacement for the gruber?

Hey, I've been reading the "fix the gruber" thread and I thought, instead of fixing it, why not replace it altogether? My idea is this:

Sniper rifle silencer - You start off with 5 of them, can be resupplied. The silencer reduces the flash and the noise of the sniper rifle, so your sniper rifle can only be heard from..say...50-100m out, otherwise it is muffled. It also reduces the flash from your sniper rifle. However, you have to spend 2-3 seconds fixing the silencer to the rifle, and it is only good for until you reload. Also, your sniper rifle becomes longer because of the silencer

I think this would be a good idea since it is especially fit for the sniper who hides well - he has the time to affix it, and is in a good enough hiding spot that the silencer won't be spotted thus he gets a reward of a not so loud rifle and less muzzle flash.

Thoughts?

I haven't unlocked it but I used it when I had a squad unlock thing. It's awesome, why replace it?

I'd prefer having the gruber, I don't care what anyone else says I find it a necessity when sniping at 300+

The skin for the Zeller looks like it has a supressor, but in reality it doesn't!

Maybe it does. Maybe the sound you hear now is silenced. Normally without it would sound like a cannon

I say just make the gruber a perma-upgrade to those who unlock it (like the stamina upgrades).

Not many people use it since there's already RDX, APM, and camo to chose from.

yeah if you read my last post in the gruber thing you'll see i made a slight retraction. everyone's answers helped me to figure out how to use the gruber correctly and i apologise for making what was in the end a bit of a pointless thread. gruber is awesome, let's just leave it as it is. xxx

Actually, I think the Zeller comes with an amplifier. :laugh:

The graphics for the Zeller kind of look like it has a silencer, but it's the loudest gun in the game, I think.

Haha alright RichardDawkins, then let this just be a standalone idea, thoughts? Just assume this could be an idea for the next..expansion or whatever, viable equipment or not?

yeah i reckon it would be cool, although sadly i don't buy expansions on principle. i like the fact that it is equipped for the whole clip, although clearly this would be of no advantage to the zeller. i think they need make zeller headshots proper KILLS, rather than critical woundings. that would be awesome, zeller users could become the bane of squadleader-less squads
