    what kit do u use?

what kit do u guys usually use and get the most points with?

i can rack up a ton of points w/ assault or recon (using lambert carbine)..but with a sniper, i find it hard to consistently score high and keep myself from looking like a noob lol

Since turning Brig General I've been less worried about getting points/awards and just play for fun, and I have found that Support with the Clark is awesome!

As a side effect my SPM and KDR has started climbing.

When i reached the lazy mans top rank, i tended to mess around with other kits more, especially the Engineer class.

      Still i mostly played Assault.

I get the most points with support (with the clark and sentry gun) and recon (with apms and rdx).

Kills will always give you points, but the best way to get kills is ALWAYS to play with the kit/weapon you like the best/are most comfortable with, so I'll stick to the "everything but the killin'" perspective.

As always, whether playing for points/awards/ranks (which we all did at one point, be honest) or for fun/wins, it depends on the situation/game mode/map type.

Big points/awards: Titan Engineer for repairs when there's gunners & guys blowing the guns (insane repair points - Sidi when the Titans can move is the best for this); Support anywhere for resupplies (everyone needs ammo); Assault on city maps for healing & revives

Fun/wins: again, situation dependent. Engineer in the silo-hopping phase of a Titan round, then either Assault or Support for fun battles on the Titan (or go Recon for an early rush at the Consoles). Assault or Support (depending on your inclinations towards run & gun or machine-gunning vs. shotgunning) on city maps (always with a squad BTW).

There's a reason Recons tend to have lower scores unless they're just killing machines (cue the deluge of snipers telling us how many Gold Stars in a row they got last night while going 60K-0D every round) - no teamwork points except for flag caps & the occasional Commander asset destruction. Think about it: when three classes have three ways to score and the fourth class only has two ways, they're going to (in general) have lower scores unless they're good enough to just wipe out the other team almost single-handedly.

I believe a recon soldier should get half a point for spotting an enemy (using Q), while somebody else kills the enemy. That would help even out the teamwork/kill points.

that makes alot of sense. i never really thought about it that way....maybe i should start going behind enemy lines to blowup their radars and stuff.

are there actually snipers out there who are THAT good and can get gold stars?

I got the gold star the other day by using Recon equipped with Lambert Carbine/ APM/ RDX. I was squad leader on Belgrade, my squad ran back and forth the whole round capturing and defending flags, when we take a flag I give orders to go attack a different flag and after that I use the RDX to cover the flag we just captured and use the APMs to block and entrance/exit path just in case some enemies decide to show up. As soon as I saw a flag on the map go neutral... BOOM instant combat efficiency pin, then the ones who survived the RDX blast, BOOM they got found my APMs. The I go back to the flag and cap it, giving me 2 more teamwork points.

I also use the RDX while lonewolfing to blow up the assets, then I'll take an FAV that is near the enemies base and I'll go to a supply drop and resupply my RDX, go back to the Enemies main base, rinse, repeat. I use the APMs sometimes to block small paths that FAVs can take because they will kill whoever is in the vehicle, leaving the vehicle vacant.

I sure as heck deserved the Gold star after all of that, I had like 72 points in round, maybe 40 of them being teamwork points and the rest kills.

Sniping can be fun. You don't get very many points tho' unless you're moving w/ a squad.(Also called assault sniper.)

I use the Zeller all the time. Not b/c i want to, but because I try to get used to it for the 2142 Pro mod.

Attemping running HS is really fun, especially when you get the lead down.People start calling you a hacker.

                  I'm usually assault tho'.

I've done probably my best work to date with the Assault kit (with Baur, Rockets, and Defib slotted, along with the Spawn Beacon).

Now that I've got the lion's share of stuff unlocked and I've started working the other classes more, I've found support with the Ganz, Infantry sonar, and Sentry Turret to be really good too.

Next would probably be Recon with the Lambert, APMs, and RDX slotted. Great for Titan defense OR Offense.

Engineer is hands-down the most difficult class/kit for me to play. I really respect the good Engineer players; it's a tough job to pull off well.

Engie class for me. I sure miss my DAO-12 though

Recently I've been gravitating towards support, using the Clark. Love it.

you get the most career points from sniping. endless combat efficiency pins plus infiltrator awards = $$$$$

easily net 150 career points a round on busy maps

Hmm recently i have played alot more support.

Nowadays it is rather balanced what i play between: Recon/assault and Support

And i get the most points as Assault/Support

Support with Shotgun, Assault with Defib. Best ways to get points. But these days I mostly care about winning, so I use whatever fits the situation.
