    Is titan pushing an exploit?

For those who doesn't know what it is; Titan pushing is when the commander orders the titan to be moved close to or "behind" the other teams titan, and the other teams titan will then back up to prevent a crash. On a map like Suez Canal , where both teams will usually move their titan to the middle, one commander can push the other titan back if he doesn't order any movement up or down.

Here is a picture of a bit extreme case, where the other teams commander did nothing to prevent it:

It's not very fair for the team that is being pushed, because the titan's effectiveness is limited. I don't really see why it's made like this either, why should the other titan be kind and back up?

Is this a bug that I'm exploiting here? The reason I'm asking is that I just got kicked for doing it. This has happened to me countless times, but I am usually able to minimize the damage.

    Never heard of Titan pushing.
Two titans close together causes lag I think, so that's probably why you were kicked.

This was on Timeless, titans are always next to each other. I was kicked for "spoiling gameplay".

I've come across this before, once the titans start pushing each other there is nothing that the commander on the receiving end of the push can do, all you can do is wait until the titan's shield who's pushing goes down.

EA did that because otherwise they would both crash into each other and fall from the sky in a massive explosion due to simultaneous core rupture causing a shockwave of destruction and causing a defeat by both teams.

Yea, I dont think its an exploit but a design and the severe lag caused "spoiled" the fun.

The moving titan should just stop moving or when a radius toward the other titan is reached the move command is denied.

The titans are state of the art war machines that should have trajectory software to know that a collision course has been made with enemy titan.

hmm wonder what would happen if it was pushed out of bounds,

i suppose then it would be an exploit

I agree with Crunch, the pushing Titan should just stop when it get's within a certain radius of the other titan.

The titan moves so damn slow, I guess any lost ground would look like a large blow.

It's probably not an exploit but something put in intentionally to keep Titans from running into each other (wouldn't that be fun to watch?). I guess whether or not it's fair play is a matter of opinion.

I've gotten a part of the back of the Titan out of bounds before by pushing it, but it really didn't effect teams until there core was gone and most ppl bailing off the back were out of bounds.

The only reason why i find "Kissing" titans annoying, is because there is always 1 idiot firing at the Titan shields non stop.

When the titans are in pod distance from eachother it can be cool because the defense and attack can switch all of a sudden. If your titan has too many ppl defending, the excess can quickly go attack instead

Never happens, all of a sudden the attackers die away and all the Silos turn.

"Yeah, man. We drove them off!"
"Should we maybe go attack them?"
"Nah, I got like 30 points here. I don't wanna loose my spot. Saw you eying it."
"Its gotten really quiet, when they coming back?"
"Donno...why'd all the Silos go grey all of a sudden?"

Computer Voice "Enemy Missles incoming, 3...2...1..."

                      "Oh sh...."

Sounds more like that the admin was just upset with his commander and his team not playing well, which he blamed on you for pushing his titan back. Don't you find it funny he kicks you for pushing the titan AFTER his shields are all the way down?

And the proof of that is?

It does sound like an exploit which is one of the border line questionable ones. Using the game engine and mechanics to get an advantage. like most other questionable ones (grenade spamming, RDX spamming, absent commanders, base rape, spawn killing) the admins have a choice of either allowing them or disallowing them. Seems you found an admin who disallowed it.

Chalk that one down to experience and move on. I am sure you would be welcome back on timeless suez again lol. Hardly crime of the century.

I'm guessing exploitable bug. The titans are just supposed to stop at a certain distance from each other, not push each other.

I have titan movement disabled on my server. It seems that people with lower end systems lag when the titans move.
