Here are a few simple tips to improve your gameplay from my point of view. Using these, I either get accused of hacking, or asked for advice.
Just had a match, and here are the results. This is on camp gibbywahoo as Assault.

It's pretty common if you play smart. Here are a few tips for assault.
- Don't charge straight into battle. Sure, you "might" push through, but changes are you'll be shot down by stray bullets or random explosions
+ Instead, go around a battle and attack from the sides. Attacking from the rear often takes too long, and you also risk getting trapped behind enemy lines.
- Don't get in over your head
+ Stay at the perimeter of the battle and assess the situation. Identity your targets and quickly go in, take them out, and return to your perimeter location.
- If a teammate has fallen, don't just blindly run up and revive.
+ Check the area. If they just died, it's for a reason. Check the area and remove threats before running out in the open to revive.
- If you kill an opponent, don't immediatly wander off
+ Stick around a few seconds to see if an enemy assault trooper runs up to try to revive him. If you have supplies nearby, tossing a nade at someone you killed can be good if no friendlies nearby.
- Don't attack what everyone else is attacking
+ There is enough fire going to that spot. Instead, look around and check the distance for snipers and for those who may be attempting to flank your area.
- Don't waste your time trying to get a knife kill unless you want a badge.
+ If the opportunity arrises, simply take out your opponent the most efficient way.
- If an enemy is throwing grenades, don't fall back.
+ Instead, take the opportunity to charge him. He has a delay before he can fire his weapon
- Once you see an enemy, don't just simply open fire.
+ Instead, run for cover in front of you, or if none, crouch and fire. With cover in front of you (ie a box), you're survival is much higher if you can pop up, fire, and crouch down in safety again.
- Don't use single shot mode.
+ Instead, always have full auto on...but make it a habit to to single clicks for most of your medium to long range kills. If someone suddenly shows up in your face, you'll be ready with full auto shots.
- If you're under fire over an extended period of time (where one clip won't do the whole job), don't stick around!
+ Fire your shots carefully, reload while falling back to some cover, drop meds, and fire back. Again, fire your shots, reload while falling back to another cover spot, meds, and refire. They'll be forced to move forwards to get back in range which leaves them open vs your defensive position.
- Don't blow all your rockets if you have rocket addition unlock
+ Instead, fire two rockets. That normally is enough for a kill. Don't reload...simply use the remaining two rockets for the next attack. This is, of course, if there are no supplies nearby for a resupply.
- Don't blindly fire at opponents
+ Try to constantly make an effort at actually aiming at their head. People will often watch me fight and only here 2 or 3 shots per kill. This is because I often go right for the head.
- Don't try to fire bullets at snipers that see you
+ Use your rockets to attack them, but strafe left/right as you are firing to make for a harder target.
- If you're a squad leader, don't be up at the front of the battle.
+ Hold back just a bit. Imagine a line of troops. You should be on the line behind them, or the one before them. As long as you're alive, you can keep resupplying the front line with fresh troops every few seconds. Once a line breaks, it's often all over. Stay back and help keep your squad alive while performing medical (heals/revives), support (rocket fire), and recon (spotting) tasks.
> It's good to range find your target, then add an increase in range by one movement. This insures that the blast will hit even if they duck behind cover.
- Don't just stare at the battle scene.
+ Every few seconds, you should check the radar and see where enemies are.
- Once you see nearby enemies, don't go straight for them unless they are distracted.
+ Instead, try to flank them. There could be more than just one someone spotted. By flanking, you have an element of suprise.
- If you're falling back from fire, don't simply run off
+ Instead, have your medpack out while you run. It'll help reduce the damage you're taking from the fire
>If you're being chased, right click to drop a grenade at your feet. This is especially effective around corners. Once they get to where you were, the grenade has a good chance of killing them.
- If you're losing a fight, don't continue firing.
+ Instead, fall back, heal, and return fire again. There's little chance that they were able to heal up, and you'll have the edge.
- Don't run past places enemies can hide.
+ Check everywhere enemies could be when passing through.
- When a high traffic passage or corner is ahead, don't simply run through
+ Instead, crouch through it if alone to keep from triggering APMs. If friendlies are nearby, let them pass through first. If they die from an APM, you can revive them and continue.
- When there are a lot of enemies ahead, don't blow all your grenades/rockets.
+ Throw/Fire all but one or two. Wait a few seconds, then fire the rest. Enemies will hold back when they see/hear the explosives. Once the moment comes where they no longer come, they'll think it's safe and come out to revive or attack. What they don't know is that you merely delayed, and grenades/rockets are already in the air on the way to them.
Hope some of these help! :)
*UPDATE*
I decided to try 100% sniping tonight, just for kicks. No explosives or anything.
I decided to give a lil tidbits here and there for the recon kit using no explosives. I wasn't doing squadplay tonight due to wanting to try to go straight sniping and not base taking (and people spawning on you is bad for stealth).

With the following, I was only using two selectable unlocks.
Weapon: Default
Unlock1: Stabilizer
Unlock2: Ghost
Why default over the unlock weapon? You have more ammo to play with. Your shots are also a lot more quiet. On top of that, your vision is a lot better.
Why Stabilizer? Simple. Sure, you can spend a second waiting to line up a shot, but how I play, I need quick snap headshots at any given moment. If you're placed well enough, you won't need APMs.
Why the ghost? One...for the fun
Two...survival. Place it at a spot you can't visually see well, and then you hang near enough for it to hide you, but still be in a good spot to take out incoming foes.
Recon players can make awesome squad leaders. Get into a good covering position while you're squad runs up and takes a flag. Always stay around the back of the group to cover them. If you're capturing, drop the ghost in the opposite corner and have your pistol ready for incoming foes.
Once your squad takes a flag, or you're ready to move on, pick up the ghost and move into your new spot. Try not to hang out in one place unless you can easily escape if it gets too hot.
When you spot an enemy who doesn't know you're there, FIRST DECIDE whether it's best to announce your presence or not. You need to make this decision within a couple of seconds. When you are ready to take a shot, stabilize and do one of the following:
1. If they are in a defending position with cover, aim for the head.
2. If they are immobile, aim for the head.
3. If they are in the open or running, aim for the body and followup with a second body shot. This way, you don't end up giving your position away and/or wasting ammo with difficult shots. If you miss, they'll be looking. If you hit, they'll be running around looking for a place to hide.
If an enemy is near you, hit with your rifle then switch to pistol to finish them off.
Always be on the move, if you can. Once you get a few kills, don't stay there. Move on...but don't forget to pick up your ghost!
