Their job was to move in; hit hard and fast; secure the silo and the surrounding area. Their job was to capture Silo 1.

The squad of 6 rolled up in a grey Groundhog APC, stopping on the outskirts of Silo 1. Stealth was required for their attack, so the squad exited and proceeded on foot. Squad leader Corporal Davis gave the APC driver a quick salute as the APC turned around and returned to the EU’s main base in Minsk.
The squad made it’s way to the hills surrounding Silo 1, located in a valley. The squad’s sniper, Private First Class Livingstone, peered through his Moretti’s scope and said, “Light opposition, about a small squad.” A few seconds later, “5 of them, none with heavy weapons.”, Davis replied, “Well men, we know what we’re up against, let’s move out”
Livingstone fired the first shot of the battle. The 7.62mm round hit the first PAC soldier square in the head. Machine gunner Browning laid down hundreds of rounds of suppressive fire from his Bianchi FA-6, allowing the squad to move up. The squad eliminated the PAC soldiers easily.
The battle was over in less than two minutes. The only problem was that the squad’s medic, Private Hood’s SCAR 11 had jammed. He yanked the bolt back a few times to no avail. “Nekomata, east of our position!”, Corporal Davis yelled. Sure enough, a Type 32 Nekomata tank had appeared from the fog,
The engineer in our squad fired his anti-tank rockets, but they were absorbed harmlessly by the Type 32’s active defense. The tank fired a single shell straight at the squad. Davis, Livingstone, and the two engineers were killed instantly. A large piece of shrapnel went straight into Private Hood’s leg.
The only two left alive were Private Brooks, the assault trooper of the squad, and Hood. The fact that Hood’s gun had jammed and Brooks stayed back to help him, saved them both, though Hood was bleeding badly from his wound. Brooks quickly scanned the area for any cover and quickly spotted a large concrete bunker.
The assault trooper and the wounded medic made their way the bunker. Fortunately it was empty, save for a drowsy PAC soldier almost asleep in an anti-air turret on top of the bunker. A quick knife took care of him. “Serves him right for sleeping on the job,” Brooks muttered to himself.
Hood was now barely conscious and had a lost a lot of blood. “In my medic pack....” Hood murmured. Brooks reached into Hood’s backpack and pulled out a small box. He opened it and started to apply a tourniquet when he heard the sinister hover of the Nekomata. He quickly finished the tourniquet and climbed up to the roof of the bunker.
“Requesting immediate extraction in grid Tango foxtrot one four!”, Brooks yelled into the radio
“Negative, sir, UAV shows one Type 32 in your area,” the air transport pilot replied
“Sir, I’ve got a man down!”
“Sorry, it’s just too risky with that kind of firepower in the area!”
Brooks sighed. He would have to take out of tank before he could get out of there.
The tank was patrolling the area. It had not noticed him yet. He had no anti tank weapons, and the Mitchell anti-tank launcher was mangled beyond recognition, and even if it wasn’t, he would have no way of getting to it without alerting the tank to his position.
His only hope was his PK-74 rocket launcher attached to his SCAR 11. It was generally used against infantry, though test showed that rockets placed in the right places could take down armor, He poked his head above the wall. The tank still had not noticed him. He switched the fire selector from “SAFE” to “IMPACT DET.” He aimed the rockets at the rear of the Nekomata and pulled the trigger three times.
The three rockets hit the tank right in the fuel cells that powered the 8 engines that allowed the tank to hover. A few tense milliseconds later, the tank exploded into a shower of sparks, flames, and shrapnel.
“How ‘bout now?”, Brooks said into the radio.
“All right, air transports heading to your position”
The two UD-12 Shepherds hovered in. One was full of troops to reinforce the area and one was empty to pick up Brooks and Hood. As the men in the second Shepherds loaded Hood into it, Brooks took a moment to mourn his fallen comrades before climbing into the transport himself.
