Patch 1.4 put me into troubles

I patched the game with 1.40 and now only 6 servers are available. And their pings to me are so high! What do I do?

If you didn't create a double install (copy and paste 2142 folder), you will have to reinstall the entire game from the beginning.

Did you by any chance DL it from the EA newsletter? Stupid EA, won't even tell you its a beta.

i found this but for me the pings are really low. although im not in game more than 5 minutes before the piece of sh*t crashes! this game is really starting do my head in. there is always something wrong with it!:|:

I am surprised by the number of people that don't understand that 1.40 is a beta and not the last official release. The servers running this patch are select ones run by GSP's. You should make a copy of your 1.25 BF2142 folder before installing the 1.40 beta patch so you can switch back to the 2142 servers running the current official version.

I do tech support for a GCP and I actually saw one person put in a ticket asking why the BF2142 server he just bought was running the "old" patch 1.25!

It just says Battlefield 2142 v1.40, get the latest version, etc., and it links to the beta file.
