    sniping is suprisingly fun

so today I finally hit Brig Gen (WOOT), so with no more point grind I decided to give the recon kit some love and attempt sniping (which I am never good at, in any game).

I had so much friggin fun. It was so nice to finally camp in those sniper spots on camp G I am usually getting picked off from and be on the other end of the scope. Even more rewarding was the fact that one hit either killed or decimated a guy. I was so used to the ganz or voss from my regular classes that I always thought it took at least 5 shots to kill someone. Once I got in the groove and started getting headshots it was even more fun. I def am gonna play this class a lot more now that I am not as concerned about points or awards.

And for those career snipers out there, I never got around to unlocking it but I can feild upgrade to it, so which is better - the standard sniper rifles or the Zeller? I find head shots kind of tricky unless the target is prone or crouched, so those extra 3 shots really come in handy. Is the Zeller that much more powerful that you can get away with only 3 in a clip?

Laslty, what do you recon guys put in your kits for sniping and non sniping loadouts (I did unlock the carbine). I usually do the RDX and Mines, but I now have the stabilizer and the active camo with NS upgrade. Are either of these useful? What about the sniper decoy?

    Thanks for the advice.

Recon makes the game IMO. Recon needs more skill for those tricky HeadShots.

To answer your question about the guns... Zeller does more damage to the Upper Torso then the Stock... Zeller might have 3, but you get about 9 clips.

Loadout for me is... Zeller/Steady Thingy/APM to watch my a$$

Sniper Decoy, I was going to get that. But I heard it was a pointless.

    Cya on the front!!

Standard, its not much of a power difference, besides, one headshot from either will kill the guy just the same, and it has a larger clip.

Glad to see you like sniping

As a sniper myself i tend to use the stock rifle very much as I snipe more then 3 at a time (I play on large servers)
Plus the Zeller scope is really ugly compared to the stock rifles.

Since i have clocked 250+ hours with the Zeller(and counting). I can say that i love that gun. Yeah it has 3 bullets per clip, so what. You can kill enemy using light armor with one shot(need to hit the "sweet spot"). You can destroy AMP's,RDX's and motion mines with it. And it gives you good laugh when you see * (teamkills) * after you blow motion mine to engineers face. It has lot's of good qualities in it.

But talking about the stock sniper rifles.

I was playing in Camp G few days ago, and decided to give a change to the Moretti. I noticed straight away that it feels more "light" than the Zeller. You can shoot bit faster with it(IMO). I managed to wipe 5 enemies from the roof with one clip(one dude i killed twize).

Both gun's has their own up's and down's.

So it's lot about what you like, try them both and you will see what "feels right" for you. For me it's the Zeller. But in the past few days i have used the stock rifles time to time, just for fun.

Usually my loadout is Zeller,APM's and either stabilizer or RDX.

The stabilizer gives you an helping hand when you are shooting long range, it gives an edge against other snipers (before they get their scopes settled down you already have his head in your crosshair, and you kill him before he does any damage), and it helps you to get those headshots on the runners.

The decoy actually works if you use it right. I haven't used it that much but i have had some good laughs when i see enemy running with his knife out, and thinkin about easy tags, just to get his face blown off with my APM.

Im now ending my wall of text, but good luck with your sniper career and we'll see u on the battlefield. :salute:

The Zeller is my favorite weapon in the entire game. Feel is what's most important to me in an FPS, and the Zeller has all of it. It looks like a monster, SOUNDS like one, and the damage it does also compliments it's sound.

After I unlocked the Zeller, my frag rate jumped from about a 1.45 to what it is now, 2.16.

              My loadout is Zeller/Stabilizer/APM/RDX.

You can kill enemy with one shot if you hit the head, no matter what type of armor he has. But this is the "sweet spot"

Again, no other weapons have a special effect on Light Armor.

Zeller against Light Armor Torso = 90dmg
Zeller against Light Armor Shoulders = 100dmg (1 shot, 1 kill)

So you hit light armor enemy to upper torso/shoulder area with Zeller, then you should be able to get the one shot one kill.

Read the posts HERE by CKMC and Demize99 from DICE. They explain the one soht kill to the upper torso on light armor with the Zeller.
