What is that one component of your gaming setup that gives you the edge?

As titled, what is that one piece of hardware, software, furniture, beer, etc. that gives you the edge over others? Is it your mouse, ginormous monitor, comfy chair, brand of beer, aimbot, etc.?

Not too exciting on my end, but I'd have to say it was getting a gaming mouse, allowing for quicker movement and aiming.

In close second would have to be the Miller Lite (cheap but hella good). It lost out on first place due to the fact that it doesn't necessarily give me an edge (quite the opposite), but it makes the game so much damn fun because you don't really care when you die.

    How about everyone else?

        I don't really know.

My G5 is responsible for the recent Headshots I've been getting.

My 7900GT makes everything much smoother.

My Dad is very encouranging. :p

My wallet drain, i mean new pc . . .

That and my scotch, i play better when drinking. Johnnie Walker Green & Gold are the preferred performance enhancers.

Well for me OBVIOUSLY its not drinking (look at my age), so I might have an energy drink lying around somewhere, drink it really fast, jog in place during map load, and WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH 30+ kills and like 3 deaths (not by armor whoring)

#1 Gaming mouse - 2 days ago i had to use a normal mouse momentarily... it felt like it was broken or something. I just couldn't believe the tracking on a normal mouse was so bad.

#2 X-Fi + good earphones - since in a game your view angle is something like 70 degrees instead of the normal ~170ish degrees, you really benefit from being able to trace foes based on sound clues

Logitech laser mouse, 7800gsoc video card, Killer NIC network card, WD 10,000 rpm raptor hard drive.

But I have a few components that hinder me, three kids under 5 shaking my arm as I am trying to aim/drive saying "daddy come here"

Oh, one more thing that helped, I realized what EA's real policy was on cheaters, glitchers, stat padders, punkbuster caused screwed up stats, and corrupt admins:

Meh, energy drinks don't work on me, dunno why.

I would have to say my 2500dpi X7 mouse with the 3-shot-one-click button

                          Biggest advantage: Me.

My rig is pushing 3.5 or 4 years old at this point, so it's definately not cutting edge tech...

                            Quite simply Final Fantasy XI.

The girlfriend is addicted to it and plays it all hours, ergo no earache and more Battlefield time for your truely.

A vicious and efficient psychological education and a knowledge of how to capitalize on an enemy's panic, fear and tendencies.
