Patching Problems/Crashing

I just installed the game, i didnt put any patches on it at all , and when i get in the game to login to my character, the game crashes. So i look for a patch and i download it , and a screen pops up saying "patching failed". can i have any help?

Hi first can you tell us your PC specs.

What patch did you download? was it an incrimental or full patch?

get the full 1.25 patch. sometimes incremental patches might have problems

And make sure that you have plenty of disk space.
Also there is a file in you BF folder called "bf2142Patch.log", look in that, there might be an error message.

I think that means that there is an error in one of the temporary patch files.
If you have enough diskspace, then it might be the patch itself that is defective.
Try downloading it again from another source

From where you've downloaded it?
Try Ea Battlefield site. I got mine from there and works perfectly.

i got it from fileplanet, just download v1.25 and it failed also. im going to try to download it from ea link.

which patch should i download? cause i dl'ed v1.25 and it didnt work. i dl'ed 1.41 and it didnt work ???? please someone help me. give me a vent or teamspeak someone could talk me through it

Failed also? If you have applied 1.40 then there is no chance of applying 1.25. You will have to reinstall

There is no 1.41 patch but a 1.40 which is in Beta. You don't want that.
Reinstall and apply the full 1.25 patch.
