    3d games and widescreen ratios

Will a 3d game, specifically bf, truly utilize a widescreen ratio? What I mean by this is will switching to a widescreen actually allow the user to see MORE of the world in which their character 'lives'? or will it simply stretch out the same field of vision to fit a wider screen?

If this game does not actually truly utilize the widescreen, are there any games out there that do?

    Thanks

It depends on the game. The BF series by design does not support a wider field of view, but there are other games that does.

      cool, that's what I thought.

What (popular) games do just out of curiousity?

I think Call of Duty 2 was mentioned in the last widescreen debate.
There is a demo available, so you can download it and see for your self.

          Try the Widescreen Gaming Forum:

There's a fairly decent list of games near the top of the main page, and they cover various tweaks to the field of view, or custom resolutions etc and report on how each game handles widescreen. Very useful site.
