    CTD after 1 round.

After checking the forums for a fix, i thought i'd post this.

Upgraded my system recently and it had also been a few months since playing 2142. Now when ever i try to play i get to run 1 round, then CTD when it loads the next round.

Punkbuster is constantly updated and have tried re-installing. Running everything on max. System specs are :-

    Vista Ultimate
    Intel 6600
    2Gig ram
    512MB 8600GT

Any help would be much appreciated.

Ya, deleted the cache a number of times. It seems to only happen on a titan round. Something to do with the memory.

I'm goin to try to bump down the textures and see if that makes a difference.

If your machine is dual core try setting the affinity to one processor ;there is no auto way to do this so youll have to do it maunally via task manager;right click on 2142.exe and then select affinity etc etc..

Thanks Ice, i'll give that a shot.

Tried lowering the textures/shadows to low. It worked... But it's a bit of a shame really.

yeah I had loads of probs with ctds freezes

but since i disabled spysweeper and set the programs affinity my probs are almost nil...hell Ive even got the graphics running on medium!!!Im still going to upgrade my card and memory though...remember to do all the normal stuff like clearing cache and temp files and disabling anti virus and other user apps via task manager, there are a few great guides for tweaking your PC in these forums - just do a bit of scouring in the support section....
