Hit indicator disappearing?

Occasionally when playing a game, my hit indicator disappears and I can't tell if i hit them or not. Why does this happen, and is there a fix to it? Thanks

Could be lag. Sometimes when I'm lagging I don't get a hit indicator.

Had this happen. Makes the game very hard to play as many people don't realize how much we rely on the hit indicator to adjust our shots. Never did find out what happened.

Eh...i don't think its lag, I've had 10 ping and no indicator either...unless its packet loss or some crap. Never figured out why either

True enough, maybe you guys are actually missing your enemies? Just because you fire in their general direction doesn't mean you will hit them. There is deviation with every gun in BF2142.

Haha. Very funny. But seriously, this is a bug. I'm not sure the cause of it, and it goes away after a couple restarts (sometimes it lasts even after you restart a game). I only fly gunship nowadays, and I know when I've hit and when I haven't.

There is a setting on the server side to have the hit indicator on or off. Is it happening on the same server where sometimes it works and others it doesn't or is it happening on different servers.

lol it's not a miss, that I know. I shoot the guy with the sniper rifle, no hit indicator comes up, but I see his health go down, and I'm sure there was no other sniper shooting at him, so I'm not missing my shots

:laugh: thats a tad drastic, i would suggest reinstalling first and if that doesnt work i would wait for the next patch to coem out as that may jog things a little, if after all that it still doesnt work then it may be a glitch that will come but then a few weeks later just randomly disappear.

I have had glitches where for weeks i would not be able to reload or sprint and impatience has had the no weapon sway bug for weeks but then it just randomly disappeared.
