also, be aware of the red-tag glitch.

sometimes you will have teammates have a red name above their name. i kill many a teammate on accident because of this.

i don't look at uniforms much. i look at the red name tag. also, unless it's a spawn point... if someone is looking at you, they're probably an enemy since they're probably heading your way. your team is usually facing out, so you'll get to see their hindside mainly.

2tk's in 5hrs is probably what i average. that's not bad. just get used to shooting first for now, ask questions later.

if you accidently tk someone, say sorry immediately and learn from the mistake. see ya in game!

Also keep your eye on the minimap, it shows the location of friendlies and helps you not to shoot them

Lots of good advice here, but I'll add one more.

Don't play when you're tired. Honestly. It affects your performance, and it's a rule I usually follow religiously, but one night I just didn't.

I ended up in a tank, seeing some guys continuously pod down onto a spawn beacon and then run across some open area... well, easy pickings, right? I must have gotten a dozen or more easy kills before getting kicked for too many team kills... they were my own guys and I was just too damn tired to really notice. =(

Another example is a friend of mine who's pretty good, lots of kills... doesn't really care about stats at all so he doesn't get too worked up about dying, so he does that a lot too, but still...you'd hate to be on the business end of this guy's gun, regardless.

But he'll continually keep playing after I've called it good for the night, and I'll watch him play and I can actually see his performance go from great to not being worth a bag of smashed assholes. Guy's he'd pick off with a shuko from halfway across the map, he can't hit right in front of him, not moving, with their backs to him.

So yeah, don't play when you're tired. It's not worth the aggravation if you're the type to take pride in your performance.
