Grado rocks, especially with an outboard HP amp (can you say DeParavinci/E.A.R.) what do you do? (working with audio) I've been a freelancer (both live and studio) for 11 years now...

Whew. 11 yrs!

Im an editor myself but Im constantly working with audio 8 hours a day and somtimes more. Sound effects, keyboards, etc. I do know people who work in the music industry, such as youself and swear by Grado. But, lol, I wouldnt know where to start.

That and I havn't really had any experience with direct drive amps or outboard amps. Wait are those one in the same? See what I mean? lol

Okay I just did some research on DeParvinci. That equipment looks like candy. Gonna ask my buddies about that stuff. Im pretty certain they'd know of it. But yeah, sounds like ur in a whole nother relm than I am. hehe

Yep I use Headphones, but only for VOiP reasons. That, and I think I'm capable of hearing more with them.

Hey VT Nerd, do you use an actual 5.1 headset like the Medusa or Turtle Beach X-52s, or are you talking about a standard headset and simulated surround provided by a card like the X-Fi?

It's an actual 5.1 headset, but it's still not true 5.1 (if you know what I mean).

I use the Turtle Beach EarForce HPA 5.1 headphones. They do eventually hurt my ears if I wear them longer than about 2 hours straight. Depending on the size of your head your results may vary. :laugh:

I use a set of Zalman 5.1 headphones for the surround. I don't have a desk setup that would work with 5.1+ speakers so I opted for headphones instead. And I have a Creative X-Fi

These rock. Great bass rattles you teeth. I can hear footsteps on the other side of the wall. At only $50 buck they're worth checking out.
