hi im going to buy 2142 off EA Link because I don't feel like waiting for shipping and Im wondering what the file size is because if it's something like an overnight download then I will have to buy it before bed

Isn't the Startup program that EAlink creats different then the one created from the DVD version?

You don't actually need discs to play games. Discs are only used to check if you're using a legit copy and from there in, the disc isn't at all needed to run the game (Cracks are prime proof)

So yea, EA knows you're copy is legit, simply by buying straight from them so you won't need a cd at all to play.

The game starts the way it normally would. EA link verifies your copy each time you log on, so you'll be able to play.
