random death syndrome was the reason i stopped playing titan, however fools landing the dropships was something i could never sympathize with, unless of course they are picking peeps up

People pod out because the drop ship is so vulnerable when its on the ground.

what with pilums, AT rockets, demopak runners, motion mines, AA guns, Rorsch turrets, Tanks, walkers and Saaws its safest to get the hell away from a bullet magnet like a slowly descending drop ship.

Personally, when i get the chance to pilot a drop ship i make a pass over the silo/flag and let everyone except one of the gunners pod out. I then circle the area at a safe distance/altitude with the gunners side facing the silo / flag to provide supporting fire.

when the bizzo is done someone will call for a ride and i will then make a quick touch and go (with shields up) in a safe area to pick them all up again.

It seems to work quite well once everyone gets the idea.

Don't land it, just jump out yourself.

I never trust anyone with in airtransport. That's why I never fly it, and when I exit I bail out way up in the air.

What is the incentive for a pilot to bail out and have their ship land and crush teammates, or crash with teammates spawning in it? They get lots of negative score points. Its not worth it.
