First time connecting to any server ALWAYS fails

So now whenever I boot up BF, and join a server, the first time it always says "you have lost your connection". The second time I try to join it works.

How can I fix this?

Its probally one of those things that comes and goes in 2142, I get it as well.

Is it such a big problem that you need to fix it?

This has been happening to me all the time the past week too. I "resolved" it by adding every server to favorites before I join them, that way I can easily find them again.

Another thing for EA/DICE needs to fix, Nothing on your end. I think the "so-called maintenance Tuesday" when they service the master server screwed something up.

I believe this is an effect with Punkbuster changes as I too get this error BUT I no longer get any being kicked for PB missing packets errors.

same here. and it's not "maintenance tuesdays" like some other WAG suggested. Many Tuesdays have come and gone since it first started. What a bunch of BS. Keep your speculation to yourself instead of just guessing.

This has been happening to people since the 1.4 beta release.

Not sure if it has anything to do with that, but it's annoying as hell !
