fps caps at 15! HELP!!!

ok....so ive had 2142 for about almost a whole year now, and i have barely been able to play it, as my fps for all multiplayer games is at 15 max. always 15 max. all settings on low, the fps is always 15. all settings on high, the fps is always 15!!!!

WWTF IS WRONG?!!! i cant do **** ingame! ive stopped playing it for a long time and recently updated my sound card, decided to see how the sound performance changed in 2142, and again was reminded of how my fps does not go any higher than 15 no matter way.

WHAT IS WRONG!?!??!

i have an invidia 6800 XT, even though its an old card surely it should be able to hit at least 30 fps with all settings on low, right.....?

please help!

The good ol 15/66.7 bug. I, along with a friend of mine, have had this issue with BF2 and 2142 in the past. Unfortunatley, the only way we have ever fixed it was with a Windows re-install.

If the guy has been running his op system for a year without a re-install then he should do it regardless of BF2142.

Sounds like good advice to me - clean out your system. Reinstall and all latest drivers.

well i discovered the problem today, for some reason if my audio is set to hardware, fps never goes above 15. thats fixed. it goes above 15 now, but it never goes above 20!! the fps flucuates anywhere between 0 and 20! its impossible to play. and i just re installed windows xp professional about 2 months ago, sp2 is recently installed as well. what be the problem????
