Targeting Assists

Ok now i have known about these, cos i have had them before, but it is incredibly rare you get them, anyway played before and got two



Am just wandering how you actually get them. I think i know.

Is it when you have been in the rorsch (for example) and then hop out and if someone else jumps in and fires/kills someone with it without actually moving it, you are then awarded the 'Targeting Assist'

Well if you look at my Screen shot it kinds of makes it look as though what i said is correct, some guy just got 2 rorsch kills, then i was awarded two 'Targeting Assists'

I've heard things about it having to do with the netbat system or spotting or something but there's never been a definate answer for this I don't think =o

it's like you fired 10 bullets at some one and he's damaged more than 40% (i guess) and after that (without healing himself) somebody else kills him and then you get a helpscore with the killing

and what you probably did.. is fire @ the walker and then you got killed some one else killed him after that and you got an assist kill

Targeting assist can be achieved:

As a sniper pointing targets to fellow squad members.

Support nebatting targets to fellow squad members.

... I hate posting this as well, so I will only do it once.

TARGETING ASSIST: The Targeting assist is a left over from when EA was screwing around with the NetBat. Here is how it works: Say you are in a squad. Now, say there is an enemy behind a squad member. First, focus on him for a second so the NetBat spots him. After the NetBat gets him, have the squad member wheel around and kill him. BAM, Targeting assist! Its only worth 1/2 a point, and the situation in which it occurs is almost an impossible one. I have gotten one only once before in actual gameplay, but I have experimented to get these results.

weird.... i have played hundreds of hours with the otus (meaning all enemies in my vacinity are on the netbat) and i've never seen this targeting assist point. i'm sure there has been at least one time where an enemy was inbetween me and a squadmate, and the SM killed him. or, maybe i never noticed it. didn't even hear of this targeting assist point before. craziness!

Its not that you haven't played enough, its that you haven't fulfilled this impossible situation... As I said, it is pretty much just a leftover.

I have gotten twize these 'targeting assits' things. First one was in Tunis Harbor, i aimed enemy with my Zeller. Friendly killed him(i wasn't in any squad) and then i got 0.5 points from it. Another one was in Camp G. And i don't remember aiming anyone.

I think this is just some random thing what happens rarely.

No its not... I have tested it time and time again, and it all adds up. Everyone who has gotten one before was in a squad. I SERIOUSLY doubt you would get it differently from everyone else Provide a Screen Shot, and I will believe your story.
