Simple tactic to use when reviving teammates

Ok, I'm sure we've all been the victim of a retarded medic who revives you, only to be immediately shot dead again (I, of course have never been said medic... ). So, here is an extremely simple tactic to help keep a newly revived teammate safe.

When you revive the guy, simply hang out and guard him for 2-3 seconds after the revive. The first thing this does is allow the guy time to shake off the discombobulation that comes along with being revived without having to worry about taking as much enemy fire.

The second thing this does, is gives the guy instant knowledge of which way the enemy is, so that he can orient himself accordingly. Inversely, it also lets him know which way to run for cover in case he needs to reload.

Here's the crucial element, so listen up: If you do not feel safe guarding the guy for just a few seconds, then maybe it isn't the greatest idea to revive the guy in the first place.

wrong forum mate though . . . i nkow what you mean i am sick of those people to it is more pronounced in BF2 thabn 2142 because 2142 have a revive limit i find. the best thing to do is if you are assault then only revive when YOU know you wont DIE.

You speak of discombubulation and I can prove this

Often I am making kit selections and picking unlocks, or revising unlocks.

So I get rezzed while in the middle of messing around with other menus, then get discombobulated ontop of not knowing which direction the fight is in, charging into the wrong direction, and dodging people shooting at me.

So only rezz when it is safe!

DONT get me started on medics who dnt revive =( i think if ure dead and u call for medic only those carrying defibs shud appear so that those who dnt, dnt get flamed for not ressing since i knw a few players that go all assualt with rocekts and shotty

        but

i found myself today reviving the same guy 5 times (think he had menu up) until i got pissed at the guy sitting shooting at him so i waited revived the guy he tried to get over so i nade in the direction and spooked the enemy long enough to revive the team mate again so causing distractions help

so i stayed with him for a bit to make sure he nvr got shot and killed after all that effort :salute:

          good post.

i always say rez them unless its a tank/walker... something that you won't be able to kill in the near future... and this is only if it's conquest.

ok, say you're on conquest and a guy dies. you rez him and he gets killed again. you have teammeates trying to kill the enemy.

do you let your teammate die so that he doesn't get killed again? your team WILL lose a ticket if you let him die though.

or do you rez him even if it means putting him at a high risk for being killed again? your team will save a ticket if successful, with the only bad thing happening is one enemy gets more kills that round, but it doesn't do his team any good.

i usually rez unless i know its hopeless for that reason. i bet there's 1/2 half who would probably agree, and 1/2 who'd think i'm a jerk for doing it =)

Is it ethical to revive someone until the guy shooting him runs out of ammo so you can come around the corner and waste them?

since you don't lose a ticket for chain rezzing, I'd say it is ethical. End justifies the means =)

Ill revive you until you move out of the line of fire. I get revived so seldomly, when someone actually revives me I am caught off guard... Unless I am playing with my clan/fevergaming buddies. Then I expect them to revive me until I am able to move.

exactly your death counter doesnt go down if you die and get revived. if your getting revived, i assume the enemy shooting is the person whom killed you. best thing to do is to KILL that person, even if you die again. the medic is there to get you on your feet again.

i do this all the time. works like a charm.

I agree on this but I think that if we follow this one too much, you don't have to revive anyone. Perhaps this is the reason I didn't get revived as many as I should be?
By the way, my way of reviving is inverse to yours, when you see a friendly fallen body, I run to his body and pick out defib just 3m away, then release the sprint button and hit him, and go on leaving the scene as fast as I could. This way has many advantages, if his killer turn around and see his victim get rezed, he certainly going to open fire again. But then if you run away, and because of the fact that that poor guy's still probably lying on ground not moving, he's gonna shoot him instead of you. During that escape time you has a breathing moment to figure out where this bad guy is, and take him down when he's paying attention at your mate. Don't even mind your mate for that small matter, if he get killed again, revive him again and you get 2 rev score and 1 kill!

If you revive and stay with the body, you probably still have no idea where that killer is, let alone your mate, when he hear the sound of defib he's gonna go back and open fire on both of you, that makes the revive futile and you die for nothing.

Same as Brump, I never understood those who felt the need to lay down in the middle of the firefight to revive.
I run, zap and run only pausing long enough to aim at the corpse.

The same goes when you are revived, run first think later. The worst you can do is remaining stationary and confused in the same spot where you were first killed.

As for reviving people without clearing out the enemy: Well you didn't see them either, now did you? Otherwise you wouldn't be laying there dead

a true medic will carry his defrib, voss and most importantly smoke grenade!...this is obvious to most as it is all from the same unlock route/tree, but comonly overlooked......same as a true assault player will need his baur for single shot, shotgun for close range and rockets for covering enemy....

anyway back to the smoke grenade. most people wont carry it due to it not earning them any points. but throwing down a smoke infront of a dead team mate at the right time gives them 2-3 seconds after being revived to look at their mini map to see where they are and where to get to cover......even if a sniper is covering the corpse, its almost impossible to get a headshot through smoke, so if u get hit u still have a better chance to get to safety and get healed.....

                        defrib - smoke combo FTW!

Here's my philosophy on reviving: Do it.

If I've got a dead teammate out there that I can get to without being killed, I'll revive him. If the dead guy is a medic and a player of quality, I might even risk being killed to get him because he'll revive me if necessary.

It's up to the dead guy to be ready for the revive. It doesn't matter if there is a walker 10 feet from his corpse, or a full enemy squad, the dude should be ready to go as soon as he's up. Whenever someone drops me, I stare at my mini-map so I can be ready to sprint the second I'm up.

Sad news is there're too many noobs out there. They will wait for 5 sec before they get on with their life after getting rezed.

Then it is the Noobs, not the MEDICs fault
