    Microphone Input Generally Too Low?

I have all my mic settings cranked (which almost blows my speakers and my eardrums) but it is still not as loud in BF2142. Am I the only one that has this issue?

My mate had this problem, I could barely hear him over the gunfire etc, then we sussed it. He has to use his headphones as well as his mic, and turn his speakers off, otherwise it picks up the noise from his speakers as well, and drowns him out. Maybe a bit obvious, but try using just your headphones and not the speakers if you are not doing so already.

I think it might be my desk mic. It was only five bucks so it might be the culprit. I got a headset coming in about 3 hours so I'll check it then.

i believe thats the default settings for the mic cos i have the same prob too and so does all my mates. my solution is to turn on mic boost. unfortunately, the boost makes it way too loud, so turn your transmit volume to about 25-30%.
ie, to make the voip with ur mic have the right volume, turn on mic boost and use the test microphone to adjust transmit volume to a suitable level.
